Happy Birthday Emilie-Claire Barlow!

Today we’re wishing a happy birthday to the voice of Total Drama‘s Courtney: Emilie-Claire Barlow!

Fresh fans already know Courtney as the Queen of Overachievers, someone for whom mere success just isn’t good enough! What you may not know is that if Courtney could see a list of Emilie-Claire’s many talents she’d surely be green with envy!

Both of Emilie-Claire’s parents are musicians and she began studying multiple instruments at an early age, including piano, cello, clarinet and violin. She’s practically an entire band all on her own! She’s perhaps best known for her phenomenal singing voice, starting a career of singing in television and radio commercials at the age of seven!

She released the first of her nine albums, Sings in 1998. She’s had three separate nominations for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year at the Juno Awards, Canada’s premier musical awards, in 2008, 2010 and 2011.

Her latest album, Seule ce Soir won that coveted category in 2013! She was also named Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2008 National Jazz Awards.

Meanwhile, Emilie-Claire was taking the voice acting world by storm as well! Starting in 1998, the same year she released Sings, she was the voice of Sailor Mars on the phenomenally popular Sailor Moon! She later also provided the voice for Sailor Venus.

Her first work with Fresh TV came when she voiced 6TEEN‘s Chrissy throughout the series. Not surprisingly she left an impression! Besides continuing to voice Courtney in Total Drama she also voiced Mrs. Ridgemount on Stoked for the Fresh TV hat-trick!

Other shows Emilie-Claire has been involved in include Bakugan Battle Brawlers and later Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, The Dating Guy and 2012’s Fugget About It, an adult animated series about a New York mob boss forced to move to Saskatchewan as part of the witness protection program!

With Courtney returning in Total Drama All-Stars we’re looking forward to hearing more from Emilie-Claire Barlow! Happy birthday!
